The University of Melbourne has appointed Buildcorp to deliver a significant education refurbishment project on their Parkville Campus that will bring together under one roof the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences and the Melbourne School of Engineering.
The University’s Rejuvenation Project is designed to both refresh the facilities and encourage collaboration across departments to meet the evolving needs of its students and staff. The project will refurbish five levels (3,335m2) within the former Microbiology building, including critical plant upgrades and new laboratories.
Buildcorp’s experience and high level of technical understanding across Physical Containment (PC2) and Biosecurity Containment (BC2) construction requirements will ensure the project is completed safely and effectively in time for the University’s occupation in April 2017.
Buildcorp has delivered more than 30 tertiary education projects over the past 26 years, and transformed a range of medical, heritage and sporting facilities for many notable educational intuitions, including: the University of Queensland, the University of Sydney, Monash University, Victoria University, Western Sydney University, Australian Catholic University and the University of Technology Sydney.
