Early investigations uncover important challenges for this ACP replacement project

Buildcorp was engaged for Early Contractor Involvement investigations to advise appropriate cladding replacement options and methodology. The team provided further assurance for the client with a confirmed construction budget and programme on the basis of a full turnkey delivery arrangement.

During the investigation phase, Buildcorp identified that the external façade shared the same supporting sub-frame with the internal wall linings. In response to this, the team developed an alternative framing arrangement that isolated the internal wall linings from the facade elements, resulting in minimal disruption to the tenants’ facilities directly behind the façade.

Planning for success

In addition to the shared sub-frame, several areas of repair in the waterproofing systems adjacent to the façade were identified and rectified.

All remediation and replacement works were delivered on time, to the full satisfaction of the building owner. All works were completed in a live environment during the peak of Covid-19 restrictions and with minimal disruption to tenants.
