Cladding replacement in a busy CBD location
31 Market Street in Sydney’s CBD is situated on a busy corner and houses retail outlets, cafes, restaurants, multiple levels of office space and a childcare centre over 35 storeys. With strict restrictions on road usage on the surrounding city roads, this complex live environment was the ideal project to showcase Buildcorp’s industry leading systems. Extensive up-front planning in partnership with council enabled a comprehensive traffic management plan to be established to manage a lean delivery schedule around some of the CBD’s busiest roads.
Flexibility for minimal disruption
Working in close partnership with all stakeholders, Buildcorp’s flexible methodology allowed the childcare centre to remain operational throughout the works, retail tenancies to experience minimal disruption and office tenancies to function without significant noise impacts. This was achieved by early engagement with tenants to understand their business cycles and requirements, ensure overhead protection was designed and works scheduled to minimise the impact of construction works.
Despite works being delivered during the peak of the COVID-19 lockdown and construction shutdown, works remained on programme and resulted in more than 2,000m2 of defect free cladding replacement.
