Ampol

ECI and construction phases help ensure the design intent was captured within the client’s budget

When Ampol relocated from the Sydney CBD to Alexandria, they set out to provide their staff with a fit-out that provided space, natural light, access to outdoor areas and state-of-the-art workspaces.

Buildcorp played a pivotal role during the ECI phase of the project. Through workshopping with the design team and providing buildability advice and high-level costings, Buildcorp delivered a Cost Plan to the client that captured all essential design elements, which were crucial to harnessing the history and personality of this iconic company.

The fit-out blends industrial and modern commercial design elements, with extensive bespoke joinery and custom finishes. Buildcorp’s key role was to ensure that the transition of these finishes was seamless and delivered to the highest quality.

The fit-out of Levels 2 & 3 and part of the ground floor of this new building consisted of workspaces, collaboration areas, meeting rooms, breakout spaces, a comms room which was handed over early for client IT access, tea points and a stainless-steel prep kitchen.

Indoor and outdoor terrace seating areas and an additional ground floor café and tenancy were also required. Buildcorp completed services upgrades to all tenanted floors and a security upgrade throughout the building.

The fit-out was completed during a period of COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions. This made an already tight programme even more challenging, due to the volatility of global supply chains and the building access restrictions changing on a weekly basis for our contractors.
