Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Donor Centre, Lismore

A 15 yearlong partnership coupled with digital innovation leads to successful delivery of flood damaged donor centre.

Buildcorp was awarded the contract to deliver the new Donor Centre for our client Australian Red Cross Lifeblood (ARCL). The Donor Centre in Lismore was heavily impacted by the 2022 floods, alongside many other buildings that were significantly damaged requiring a complete rebuild. Buildcorp has delivered numerous projects for ARCL throughout Sydney, Melbourne, Rockhampton, Townsville and MacKay. The newly rebuilt Donor Centre stands in its previous location and sees many improvements including a more welcoming, brighter space, designed with donors in mind.

It was a particularly challenging 14-week project, where the team commenced procurement within 2 days of the project award and was established on site within a week. This project is one of many projects for Red Cross over the past 15 years. Our teams’ vast experience delivering projects for ARCL led to an innovative solution to digitise the space before to commencement of works, benchmarking against a previously completed Sydney CBD fit-out to support Subcontractor operations. Additionally, this strengthened operations and quality across materials handling, logistics and services coordination. The client was thrilled with both the timeliness and quality of the end product.
