Ferrier Hodgson

Defect-free and maximised workspace design in Barangaroo's International Towers

The $3.3 million Ferrier Hodgson fit-out was delivered over eight weeks in Barangaroo’s International Tower One. The design included agile team ‘neighbourhoods’, diverse break-out spaces, client areas, library and training spaces. Buildcorp’s early design involvement, experience in Barangaroo’s International Towers and quality systems delivered efficiencies and a ‘defect-free handover’ for Ferrier Hodgson’s new workspace.

Buildcorp worked closely with the design team and subcontractors to maximise the space and deliver the design intent. Stakeholder management was a key, as there were multiple (including on-floor) fit-outs and base building works progressing in parallel.

Design detail
The new workplace revitalised Ferrier Hodson’s work culture, creating a visually connective workplace, with lines of sight between team members and access to natural light. Meeting spaces consist of interactive screens, curved joinery wall panelling and bespoke feature ceilings. The entrance boasts a bespoke feature stucco wall and a feature art wall of 970 individually polished pieces. Offsite manufacture, coordination workshops and on-site sampling safeguarded the design intent. Detailed on site coordination of feature joinery ceilings with service integration required templates, physical prototypes and information sharing to achieve a break-out hub area.
