Platinum LEED

Located in the “6 Green Star” 1 Bligh Street building, this fit-out achieved a Platinum LEED rating, the highest LEED project delivered for our international client, and the highest LEED rating in Australia. Buildcorp’s scope was to deliver an innovative and cutting edge design which entailed highly detailed architectural finishes.

These finishes include porcelain mosaics laid surrounding an unequally curved atrium, three dimensional wall tiles, stainless steel clad circular columns on angles and corian joinery throughout, many pieces which incorporate state of the art audio visual equipment. The project posed various challenges for the Buildcorp team, each of which was overcome through planning and attention to detail. Both the acoustic glazed and plasterboard partitions were built on curved radii.

A new stair steel stair was constructed between levels 27 and 28 to create a fluid connection between the working and training floors. The steel staircase was built in a tight 180 degree curve. Four individual statement chandeliers, spanning up to 4 metres wide, were installed with individual hand fixed hanging mirrored wires fitted to each. With the design conceptualised by American firm Perkins & Will, other challanges for Buildcorp included working through difference in approach to architectural design, compliance with Australian Building Standards and meeting target deadlines with a project team working in a different time zone. An entire new services upgrade was delivered to meet demands of the buildings 6 Star Green Star operational rating.
