Migration Review Tribunal & Refugee Review Tribunal

Australian Federal Government

Migration Review Tribunal & Refugee Review Tribunal (MRT & RRT – Australian Federal Government) commissioned Buildcorp Interiors Victoria to deliver their new office facility, at Levels 10, 11 and 12 120 Spencer Street, Melbourne.

The head contract was administered under a Construction Management arrangement, incorporating a number of client nominated sub-contractors and suppliers. The MRT & RRT requirement of 4,100m2 of new office fit-out, to be built in eight (8) weeks to comply with an end of lease date at their existing Lonsdale Street premises, was achieved by running both a day and night shift for the first four weeks of the construction programme.

The projects specification detailed a design to meet the federal
governments strict guidelines in relation to space allocation, acoustic performance due to the sensitive interview process conducted by the tribunal and a safety regime accredited by the Federal Safety Commissioner’s office (OFSC).
Buildcorp Interiors were delighted to achieve practical completion date ahead of schedule, a final contract sum under the project budget and with no lost time injuries to report, despite the accelerated programme obligation.

The project offered Buildcorp Interiors Victoria a great opportunity to demonstrate its credentials in delivering a fast track, high specification workplace fit-out in the Melbourne CBD.
