Optiver

Office Fit-out

Buildcorp Interiors was engaged as the Managing Contractor on the fit-out for Optiver, a leading independent global arbitrage group, within the 6 Star Green Star heritage listed building at 39 Hunter St in Sydney’s CBD.

The project incorporated eight floors of fit-out; two trading floors, three administration floors, two shell and core and the basement level for new tenant services/data centre. We also managed the early procurement & subsequent installation of a new gas back-up generator and plant equipment to the roof. The fit-out of Level 7 to accommodate a commercial kitchen and client entertainment areas is in the process of being designed and costed.

The regulations of working within a heritage listed building didn’t allow any partitions to be constructed full height if they were going to intersect with the existing fabric of the building, therefore, all of the offices and meeting rooms were constructed independently of the ceiling, cornices and beams above as free standing, steel framed, pods. The majority of the steel framing had to be lifted via a hoist system suspended from the roof of the building and was operated by two abseilers.
