Buildcorp were engaged to undertake the design and construction of the refurbishment works of the pool and outdoor bar areas, guestrooms and corridors while the QT Hotel remained fully operational. All works were completed in time for the peak summer period and pre-booked Christmas functions.

Refurbishment of the hotel pool and existing outdoor recreational areas included:

  • Complete demolition and reconstruction of the pool shell to create new kids pool and spa
  • All new pool plant and heater
  • Construction of new pool bar
  • Refurbishment of existing bathrooms on the pool deck level
  • Addition of new floor area to expand the pool deck area, leveling floor levels throughout to meet DDA including ramp access where required
  • Audio visual including big screen TV, garden speakers and external connections for events
  • New raised garden beds, tiling, and artificial turf over an existing podium slab

In addition, guestrooms and corridors were fully refurbished with:

  • Installation of new joinery and carpet
  • Isolation, disconnection and decommissioning of electrical and key essential services
  • Installation/modifications of new electrical services
  • Management and coordination of client supplied items and suppliers

The key to the success of this project was continual communication with the hotel team to ensure planned works were communicated well in advance and key peak periods were identified and accommodated in our program.
