Queen Victoria Building

Shopfront Refurbishments

Buildcorp spent 16 months carrying out the refurbishment of the existing shopfronts on all levels at Sydney’s Queen Victoria Building. The works consisted in the removal of the existing framed glazed shopfronts and transforming each into a modern frameless glass shopfront while maintaining the integrity of this historic building.

With the ground floor accessible to the public as a shopping precinct and thoroughfare and the majority of the retailers operating until the early evening our challenge was in managing the removal of the existing glazing, deliveries, hoisting and fitting the new glazing throughout the night to ensure the retailers could trade the following morning without any disruption to their business was considerable.
