QAS High Performance Gym, Performance Science Facility and Office Refurbishment

Partnering to create facilities for our future World Champions

In partnership with Stadiums Queensland, Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) and QBuild, Buildcorp worked with key designers and suppliers of specialised materials and equipment to ensure our athlete’s home away from home provided the optimal opportunity to train and test to outperform their competitors.

Delivered under a design and construction contract; the original design and scope changed by 40%. Collaboration with High-Performance Coaches and gym consultant and supplier PLAE ensured space was optimised and a fully functional gym was delivered two weeks ahead of program.

Buildcorp’s high performing team worked within the live environment constraints of the existing QSAC Western Grandstand and achieved outstanding results in external audits in terms of safety and quality and completed the project with 125% training policy adherence obtained and 100% use of local subcontractors.

Following the successful delivery of stage one, the team remained on site to complete Stage 2. They again worked closely with the design team and key stakeholders to design and construct the new Western Grandstand foyer, QAS office refurbishment, performance health and science laboratories, medical suites and athlete lounge. The project includes unique works such as an altitude room, haematology lab and indoor Olympic standard test running track with embedded force plates.
