St Peter Julian Church

Refurbishment

The project comprised the refurbishment of the existing St Peter Julian Church, built in 1964. The scope of works included a complete strip out and renovation of the Nave (Church floor) and a 4 star upgrade of the run down room accommodation.

This included the demolition of the internal brickwork walls of the 78 existing rooms over three floors. We created 42 spacious one bedroom units with built in study area, full height wardrobes, custom made bed heads, fabric paneling, custom lighting and fully equipped bathrooms with shower & toilet suite. The building was in such a state of disrepair that all of the windows, sills & ceilings had to be removed and replaced and existing brickwork required extensive patchwork and rendering. Structural steel beams were installed to support the deteriorated floor slabs from underneath. Flexible membrane was also required in the new bathrooms due to the dilapidation of the slabs.
