The Galeries

Refurbishment

The desired outcome for the Galeries refurbishment – the rebranded Galeries Victoria – was to take the tired out-dated food court and transform it into a modern upmarket ‘restaurant dining’ experience to compete with the newly upgraded food halls in its CBD precinct. To achieve this goal the food court has been furnished with an eclectic assortment of custom furniture, lighting, an exotic ‘resin bead’ enclosure that houses a barrisol ceiling and a curved staircase creating a visual feature central to the food court which is tiled on all sides with timber treads illuminated by LED lights on the leading edge.

The project scope encompassed the demolition of the existing food court back to a base building shell, removing all existing kitchen equipment and exhaust system then reconfiguring the layout of the food outlets. Installation of new ceilings and lighting, including exhaustive duct work, to Lower Ground and Ground floors with all the services replaced and reticulated to the new tenancies.
