The Star – Sovereign Lakes Expansion

Being engaged as the ECI builder for 16 weeks up front helped drive the design and provide buildability advice to the design team.

Buildcorp was initially engaged as the ECI builder for 16 weeks up front to help drive the design and provide buildability advice to the design team. The project initially commenced as Construction Management during the ECI to enable early procurement of critical trades and long lead time items. Subsequently, the project converted to a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) agreement alleviating the risks associated to the client. This included four combined work fronts and the extensive site establishment undertaken to mitigate the impact on the casino and hotel operations.

The expansion works were undertaken adjacent to the high rollers gaming rooms during which operations were kept live. Custom fire and acoustic rated hoardings were built, extensive tenant liaison and meticulous planning around transitional work were undertaken to ensure no impact to the high rollers operations.
To enable works to operate in a safe manner whilst not impacting on the surrounding operations to the outdoor hotel areas below, Buildcorp developed a catch fan scaffold solution to the perimeter of the existing roof top.
