The Star – Sovereign Rivers

Award-winning high-end 'high rollers' gaming facility

Buildcorp’s fifth project at The Star in Sydney created a multi-million dollar ‘high roller’ gaming facility in a 20 week program. The project required careful management of the construction, procurement, and trades to minimise disruption to The Star’s operations and complete on time.

This new facility required the construction and fit-out of an unused space over the Sokyo Restaurant in The Star’s Darling Hotel. The space was converted into a fully operational gaming environment and included the construction of a new access bridge over the operating Darling Hotel lobby.

The project commenced with an early works package which included demolition, site establishment and ordering of items with long lead times to provide The Star with the most efficient construction program. Minimising the impact on the live operations of the adjoining casino, as well as the hotel, required smart resourcing and planning to avoid congestion on site during the day.

Buildcorp partnered with The Star and their consultant team to form a partnership that managed the design completion effectively. The luxurious project finishes included piano gloss finish joinery veneers, solid walnut flower petal joinery panels, custom joinery lattice ceiling panels, bespoke crystal chandeliers and intricate stone designs to reception lobbies and bathrooms.
