The University of Queensland Amenities Building – Sports Ovals 2 & 3

A new sports amenities building situated on the sports ovals welcomes UQ athletes and supporters

The Sports Amenities building, situated between UQ Sports Ovals 2 & 3, comprises two wings. One wing includes soccer change rooms, toilets, showers, storerooms, and first aid facilities. The opposite wing contains AFL change rooms, toilets, showers, physio, and ref rooms. The western end of the building features a function area and servery where the two wings join.

Due to tree lopping before the commencement of civil works and the design process with the University of Queensland, the project required high involvement with the Brisbane City Council.

The scope of works delivered under a design and construct contract, involved; the complete design of electrical and mechanical services, predominantly blockwork and breeze blocks construction, installation of an underground rainwater tank in the ground between the two wings in the player warm-up area, and exposed concrete flooring and tiles.
