University of Queensland Margaret Cribb Childcare Centre

New build childcare centre to accommodate 40 staff and 154 children at The University of Queensland's St Lucia Campus

Buildcorp was engaged by the University of Queensland for the construction of the new Margaret Cribb Childcare Centre at UQ’s St Lucia Campus – a one-level, slab-on-ground, timber-clad building with a centralised courtyard overlooking the UQ Sports Field to the north.

The new building replaced the existing centre, located elsewhere on the campus, which will be demolished to make way for new student accommodation. The works included:

  • Full construction and fit-out of the new centre including new outdoor play area, structures, landscaping and external works
  • External infrastructure works to bring services to support the site from the sports grandstand
  • Alterations to the existing carpark to accommodate the new childcare centre.
