A purpose built facility for the research and treatment of mental illness

The new facility (The Youth Mental Health Building) provides 15 clinical and research suites, group rooms and youth-appropriate facilities for those aged 12-25 years. This will support over 30 clinicians and allied research teams including GPs, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, neuropsychologists, and vocational and education support workers.

The new building also includes the Developmental Neurobiology and Genomics Laboratory which includes research using zebrafish models to investigate the developmental biology of mental illness.

Buildcorp’s scope of works included the construction of a four storey building made up of a combination of concrete and structural steel structure, exposed block lift and stair cores, interior stair, retention and connection to heritage façade, interior fit-out of clinical spaces, fit-out of PC2 laboratory spaces, ground floor car park, services and landscaping.
