University of Sydney New Learning Hub at St Paul’s College

Physics Learning Hub fit-out the final stage of new Academic House development

Following the successful delivery of the new Library and Academic House facilities for St. Paul’s College on The University of Sydney campus, Buildcorp was engaged by the University to complete the fit-out of a new Physics Learning Hub within the buildings.

The new facility consists of advanced physics dry laboratories, extensive general teaching spaces and studios, staff offices, breakout spaces, workshops, and support spaces.

Careful coordination

Stringent acoustic separation requirements, especially for meeting and conference rooms, meant that the team was challenged to coordinate with services contractors and liaise with the client to develop creative design solutions.

The project was completed within an extremely compressed program, and given the live, residential environment surrounding the fit out, Buildcorp’s methodology required tight control of procurement and purchasing and careful planning of materials delivery and traffic management.

The project was completed to program, in time for the commencement of the first teaching semester of the new year.
