Australia's first GOLD WELL certified retail space

Buildcorp was a proud partner to help Wilkhahn deliver their new Surry Hills showroom and achieve Australia’s first WELL rated retail fit-out. To obtain the Gold WELL certification for this healthy and holistic workplace, Buildcorp worked closely with the design team to ensure all 27 pre-conditions were achievable and the most practical 25 optimisations were selected.

The delivery brief was to create a sophisticated but minimalist space that showcases the German quality furniture within the new fit-out. Deliberately subtle but sympathetic to the high quality of the furniture, the showroom displays a range of Wilkhahn’s premium office products. Meeting rooms act as actual functional meeting spaces as well as display suites. Lighting within the rooms are dual function to both replicate office conditions, while also drawing the eye to the items on display.

In addition to the WELL rating, the showroom was also awarded the Silver Status in the Sydney Design Awards, under the ‘Interior Design – Flagships & Showrooms’ category.

Buildcorp’s partnership with Wilkhahn started well before we arrived on site when we assisted with due diligence on possible locations for their factory site.
