Supporting grassroots sport since 1992

Buildcorp’s support of the grassroots rugby community has grown over the last 30 years and our commitment to rugby and balanced teams provides opportunities and pathways for men and women of all backgrounds.

Such as our aims in business, we also aim to help build a pipeline of well-rounded team players who develop transferrable skills to become leaders and role models on and off the field.

Buildcorp Wallaroos

Australian Women’s XVs Rugby.

As rugby entered a new era, Buildcorp aimed to be a ‘Sponsor for Change’ by signing-up as the first naming rights sponsor for the National Women’s XVs Rugby team, the Buildcorp Wallaroos from 2016 to 2023.

In that time, the Buildcorp Wallaroos played a World Cup in Ireland, a 4-Nations Test series in New Zealand, and the first Bledisloe Cup double header on Australian soil in 2018. In 2019 they won their first standalone test series on home soil against Japan and competed in the 2022 World Cup in New Zealand.

Buildcorp Super W

The Buildcorp Super W provides the missing rugby link between women’s club rugby and the national team, the Buildcorp Wallaroos.

Our desire to ensure that the pathway to national selection was as close to the men’s pathway as possible, lead us to support this missing link by becoming the naming rights sponsor in 2018 of this five-week Women’s XVs rugby competition.

With five teams, one from each of the four Australian rugby franchises plus a team from the Western Force, the Buildcorp Super W gives players significantly more playing opportunities and a chance to represent their state in a week-in, week-out competition. The Buildcorp Super W enhances the pathway to the Buildcorp Wallaroos.

Club Rugby

Buildcorp’s sponsorship of grassroots rugby began in 1992.

As Buildcorp’s geographical footprint expanded, so too did our sponsorships.

Today our sponsorships also include the men and women of Sydney University Football Club, the University of Queensland Rugby Club, Melbourne University Rugby Football Club and Newcastle University Rugby Club.

In 2018, Buildcorp’s support of these University clubs extended to their Aon University 7s competition teams.

University of Queensland Rugby Football Club (UQRFC)

Recognising our geographic growth, Buildcorp extended our successful association with university sports becoming the major sponsor for men and women of the University of Queensland Rugby Football Club Red Heavies in 2008.

Buildcorp is proud to sponsor the men’s and women’s 15’s, 7’s, Junior Red Heavies, and wheelchair programs. The Club is the most successful Brisbane Club having won 25 First Grade Premierships throughout its decorated past, the most recent being in 2021.

From Buildcorp’s perspective, the partnership which encompasses shared values and passion for team sport and community investment, has contributed to their ongoing growth and success in Queensland.

The UQ Rugby Club provides an environment where excellence and academic achievements are encouraged and extolled. Many of the Club’s players have been rewarded with state and national representative honours whilst others have further contributed to the game as coaches, managers or administrators.

“Our relationship with Buildcorp goes a lot deeper than the sponsorship. They are part of the Red Heavies family and have been with us all the way. When we needed additional support for our 7’s program, they were first to put up their hand. Similarly, when we needed assistance with the introduction of our Wheelchair Rugby team a couple of years ago, they were there. We can’t thank them enough.” – UQ Rugby President, David Muir

The University of Melbourne Rugby Football Club (MURFC)

In 2017, after supporting the Club as an associate sponsor, we increased our partnership to be the Principal Partner, featuring front and centre on the Premier 1st XV jersey.

The University of Melbourne Rugby Football Club (MURFC) was founded in 1909, as one of 5 foundation clubs to establish the Victorian Rugby Union. The Club won its first premiership in 1910 and has always fielded a team in the top grade of any Victorian Competition, winning its fair share of premierships over the years.
