Buildcorp appointed to construct 152 social & affordable homes in Carseldine Village

Buildcorp is proud to be appointed as the building partner for St George Community Housing and Bric Housing’s project to deliver 152 social and affordable homes in Carseldine Village, north of Brisbane.

The development is a partnership between SGHC, Bric Housing and Economic Development Queensland (EDQ), and was selected to receive funding under the Housing Australia Future Fund Facility (HAFFF).

The project, which is a cornerstone of the larger 15-hectare Carseldine Village, will deliver much needed housing in Brisbane’s Fitzgibbon Priority Development Area, and is a key step in addressing the growing demand for affordable housing in Queensland.

Buildcorp collaborated with its partners through an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase to shape the design, review buildability, and de-risk delivery.

Buildcorp is proud of the social impact that the project will generate through the construction process. We expect more than 2,600 people to be inducted on to site, contributing over 350,000 hours of work for the economy. At peak delivery, we anticipate workforce of more than 210 trades on site, with apprentices, cadets and local contractors all playing a role in bringing the project to life.

Sustainability will be a key driver, with Buildcorp aiming to achieve a 5 Star Green Star rating in design & construction, ensuring the precinct meets the highest standards of environmental sustainability and contributing positively to the community both now and for future generations.

Last week Buildcorp co-founder and Managing Director Tony Sukkar AM attended the sod-turning ceremony alongside key partners.

“Buildcorp has long believed in the power of partnerships to deliver a lasting, positive impact,” Tony said, “and this development is a great example of what can be achieved when government, community organisations and industry work together to address the housing needs of Queenslanders.”

“We know that when we build with purpose and in partnership, we can help create real and lasting change.”

This year marks 35 years of Buildcorp delivering community-focused projects across Australia, and we’re proud to bring our experience, deep understanding of social infrastructure and a values-led approach to the project.
