Health & wellbeing at the core of Buildcorp’s fourth mass timber project

Buildcorp has started on site at The Bond, Norwest for our valued Client Mulpha, to deliver what will be amongst Australia’s first health facilities purpose built from mass timber. To mark the construction progress, Buildcorp proudly joined project partners and Hills Shire Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne this week for a ceremonial tree planting on site.

Mulpha’s next generation workplace at The Bond will offer world leading wellness initiatives over seven storeys. Architects fitzpatrick + partners used biophilic design as inspiration behind engineered Cross Laminated Timber and Glulam timber structure and high performance glass façade that maximises views to the external greenery.

The project is designed to meet 5 Star Green Star standards, with flexible spaces for commercial workplace and medical tenancies, including an oncology bunker and three levels of basement car parking.

Buildcorp’s strong expertise in health and mass timber construction has seen the team develop solutions to fortify the oncology bunker and carefully manage the timber through its procurement, logistics, installation and testing.

The wellbeing design focus has already attracted two major tenants in Dr Antony Lighten’s IVF Clinic and reproductive surgery, and GensisCare’s new cancer treatment centre.
