Buildcorp’s demonstrated experience of delivering a near identical scope of façade remediation works led to the award of façade remediation works to the Law Courts Building in Sydney’s CBD.
Following the successful remediation of the exposed aggregate finish concrete façade of the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney, Buildcorp was engaged to deliver a similar scope of works to the Law Courts Building in Queens Square, Phillip Street.
The scope of works primarily consisted of concrete spalling remediation, joint sealant replacement and removal of corroded fixings. A notable portion of the scope of works required correction of previous remediation works delivered by another contractor prior to Buildcorp’s engagement.
With the building housing the Supreme Court of New South Wales, a flexible methodology was required to enable disruptive façade demolition works to be scheduled around court times to minimise the impact on court operations. The chosen methodology of swing stages and rope access technicians, with the public protected with a full B-Class hoarding below, enabled flexibility for works to be rescheduled on an hourly basis to suit court activities without significant impacts to the overall project programme.
