To extend the life of these two mutli-deck car parks, Liverpool City Council engaged a Consulting Engineer to design a remediation and repair strategy which Buildcorp executed following a competitive tender.

Buildcorp undertook the structural remediation of two Liverpool Council car parks: repairs of delaminating concrete, sealing of cracks, repairs to concrete parapets and waterproofing of joints and ramps.

Buildcorp also carried out various safety and accessibility upgrades in the two car parks: installation of new safety barriers, bollards, wheel-stops, tactile indicators and stair nosings, ceilings painting and line-marking upgrade.

All the works had to be undertaken while the car parks were in operation so the Buildcorp crew was working night shift for the whole duration of the project. Fast curing waterproofing materials also had to be sourced from Europe in order to complete the ramps waterproofing without taking them out of service.

Reliable and consistent service from Buildcorp’s remedial experts resulted in the addition of further packages of works throughout the duration of the project.
