Seamlessly co-locating Sydney FC’s operations within one elite sporting facility, the Buildcorp team adopted a highly consultative approach to successfully deliver this project. Operations to the surrounding Macquarie University campus were expertly maintained and the varying needs of a range of future end users integrated into the final design.

This state-of-the-art facility at Macquarie University brings together elite football, education, and community engagement into one central hub, servicing the club’s needs for years to come.

Set to host future end users from Sydney FC’s A-League, W-League, National Youth League, and Academy teams, as well as Macquarie University students, the project delivered elite sporting facilities including a gymnasium and medical and rehabilitation facilities, female friendly facilities, as well as education and community facilities.

Delivered within the live Macquarie University campus, a key challenge for this development was maintaining operations and proactively protecting the safety of all both within and surrounding the site boundary. Buildcorp worked closely with the University to understand their calendar, ensuring works were programmed around exam periods and that safe access for pedestrians traversing the site was always maintained.

In addition, the Buildcorp team worked extensively with end users of the development to understand their operational requirements and identify and implement design changes that would ensure a fit-for-purpose asset at handover.
