Helping the University of Sydney protect & extend the life of a number of buildings across their Camperdown / Darlington campus.

The Camperdown / Darlington campus has well over 100 existing buildings of various ages, construction types and states of repair.

Following an audit of all these building, Arup prepared scopes of work to ensure the buildings functioned for their required life span requirements.

Due to the number of buildings, the tender for these were packaged up into bundles of 10 – 15 buildings at a time. Buildcorp were successful in securing Façade Package 1 of 12.

During this project Buildcorp worked on buildings including the Wentworth Building, Bioscience Building & Chemistry Building. Work undertaken included concrete & brickwork repairs, window replacement, joint replacement, waterproofing repairs, heritage repairs, hazardous materials removal etc.

Working on this number of buildings at any one time, with this number of stakeholders, around exams times, laboratory downtimes, holiday periods and other contractors meant our team had to perform extremely efficiently and flexibly with a major emphasis on open and clear communication.
