Last week, Buildcorp honoured a tremendous milestone when we gathered alongside our valued partners Barker College, Architectus, TTW, epm Projects, WT Partnership and KPMG to celebrate the Topping Out of the state-of-the-art learning environment.
Set amongst the evergreen treetops amidst the heart of the school grounds, guests heard from Head of Barker College Phillip Heath AM who commemorated the project and its significance to the school. We were also lucky to be joined by some special guests, the Barker School Captains who shared words about the excitement growing amongst the students as they anticipate project completion.
General Manager Contracting NSW Jordan Sukkar said:
“Results from a recent Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD) report reveal that when comparing Barker Maths Hub to a theoretical concrete framed building of similar design, utilising a timber framed solution is estimated to save up to 26% in upfront carbon emissions.
This comparison provides an estimated reduction of upfront carbon emissions of 1,092 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e), which is equivalent to 130 homes powered for a year or 230 cars driven for a year.”
Buildcorp is looking forward to further strengthening our partnership with the School and our valued project partners to deliver this wonderful learning environment and sustainable legacy in 2023.
