Complex job at Australia Post’s massive parcel sorting and distribution centre in Bayswater, Melbourne.

Work involved upgrading services infrastructure across the 36,340m2 facility and the refurbishment and fit-out of the administration building.

Buildcorp were appointed this project after a four week tender period and an extensive post tender period.

The project has three major components:

Warehouse

Bespoke services fit-out to facilitate the installation of two new parcel automation machines (including both base building and tenant required services)
Update of existing fire services system
New satellite amenities including security screening area, offices, breakout area and rest rooms
Structural adaptations – infill of existing sunken loading dock area

Administration Building

Comprehensive new fit-out
Upgrade of services including both base building and tenant areas
Installation of new comms room, plant rooms and corresponding electrical and mechanical equipment
New DDA lift
Two new steel structure stairs
Structural adaptations to install the new DDA lift and other items

External Areas

New vehicular entrance ramp to Raid Stand rest rooms
Structural and civil works including alterations to existing loading dock area and expansion of existing canopy
Roof maintenance system
