This significant heritage redevelopment transformed the 1886 Foley Brothers Warehouse into a first-of-its-kind luxury Japanese dining precinct in the heart of Sydney city.
Once home to the largest produce markets in the country, the warehouse has been transformed into an exquisite culinary district that pays homage to Japan’s approach to exquisite dining. The precinct features a diverse range of fine-dining restaurants. Experience every Japan through the arches – Garaku, Five and Omakase along with Whiskey Theif, a Japanese whiskey bar and a patisserie – Dear Florence.
The precinct is considered the most authentic 19th-century warehouse courtyard in the city of Sydney. Originally built for trading close to Sydney’s wharfage and railways, this landmark site represents the most intact demonstration of the late-Victorian warehousing that formed a major part of Sydney’s landscape.
In addition to the restaurant fit out works, the project consisted of a services upgrade throughout the building, new amenities & goods lift core, courtyard upgrade, end of trip facilities and waste room to the basement.
