Maintaining business-as-usual for the Shell team and their clients during the fit-out of the occupied 7-level office tenancy

The Shell QGC Brisbane head office refurbishment project located at 275 George Street involved the revitalisation of 7 levels, staged over six months. The 2-stage delivery included the concurrent fit-out of levels 25, 26 & 27 followed by the fit-out of levels 24, 28, 29 & 30.

The acceleration of two floors during stage 2 enabled early handover and relocation of staff allowing the churn floors to be vacated early.

The staged construction of the L30 client floor required construction of a temporary reception area and meeting rooms ensuring continual operation while the original double height reception area and remainder of the floor was fully demolished and upgraded. During this time, presentable hoardings were established to segregate the area maintaining access for staff and public to this level.

Shell is renowned for their high safety standards and our team proactively navigated the safety requirements and exceeded Shell’s expectations. On the back of this, Shell produced a safety film to demonstrate Buildcorp and Shell’s collaborative and proactive approach to health and safety on this project.
