Transurban Queensland Traffic Control Room

Phase 1 of the strategy included a 2 floor fitout within the existing Kedron facility requiring the existing TCR remain operational while the new works constructed adjacent. The new space inclusive of a second TCR, structural modifications to improve the open plan workspace layout, comms / data room expansion and infrastructure in preparation for phase 1 and refurbished deck was carefully planned and communicated ensuring no interruptions to the 24 hour operations of this facility.  

Key features and challenges of the project included:  

• Demolition including removal of walls and area of an active comms rooms including protection and continuation of service.  

• Electrical methodologies and specialist inductions developed and agreed to by all before any major shutdowns.  

• Detailed auditing and dilapidation of all existing live services and protection throughout the duration of the construction works.  

• In excess of 30km of data & electrical cabling and 3km of timber battening were installed throughout the project.  

• Finishes including carpet, equipment, and Loose Furniture from all over the world delivered on time successfully through the Covid-19 pandemic.  

• New solar PV installation across the roof area.  

• Electronic vehicle charging station installed within the car park.
