After the successful completion of the refurbishment works in stage one, Buildcorp was engaged to perform the remaining facade and fit-out work to complete the entire building facelift

Facing the challenges of a busy student environment with heavy foot traffic and occupied floors during construction, Buildcorp applied years of experience working on the campus to develop effective methodologies in consultation with university stakeholders.

The project scope included:

  • Internal demolition and refurbishment of new classrooms, offices, kitchen/breakouts, and tutor rooms on Levels 6, 7, and 8 of Building 69, and Level 7 of Building 67
  • Upgrading existing tiled finishes on the Level 2 entry ramp and foyer area in Building 67
  • Removal and installation of new external windows on all remaining levels of Building 67 and Building 69
  • Removal and installation of new external sunshades on all levels of Building 67
  • Complete re-painting and cleaning of the facades of Buildings 67 and 69
  • Removal and installation of new full-height glazed curtain walls for the Building 69/62 link, Building 69/67 link, and alcoves in Building 69
  • Installation of a new staircase and lounge area between Levels 6 and 7 of Building 69

Externally, access equipment for the facade upgrade was managed with exclusion zones, physical barriers, and extensive signage. Internally, demolition work was conducted at night to ensure public safety and minimize noise, vibration, and dust. Shared lift access with the public required lift protection, signage, and barricading to redirect public movement within the building.
