Construction of a new, five-level tertiary education building including function space offering a great opportunity for ACU to host events, with fantastic views across to the port, airport, city and ranges.
Soaring high above the Australian Catholic University’s (ACU) Banyo campus with a 360-degree view of Brisbane, the Mercy Building is a spectacular space where students, staff, and guests can interact with ease.
Situated on a sloping site, the new building connects to the existing library at two levels via bridges, allowing students to move freely from the library to various study spaces. The rooftop function area offers a unique space for students, staff, and guests to interact.
The building transforms indoor and outdoor learning by offering students a variety of study settings, including spaces for group and individual work, whether in silence or conversation.
The Buildcorp team completed the impressive new five-level education facility over a 16-month program that included a value-added Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) stage.
By working collaboratively with the design team, Buildcorp developed options that generated $1 million in savings. ACU accepted $725,000 in savings on items such as lighting design, placement and fittings, as well as landscaping and mechanical services.
