Having assisted the owners in establishing anticipated budgets for undertaking ACP replacement works, Buildcorp’s façade and remedial team were engaged to undertake the full scope of cladding replacement works.
Recognising the importance of acting quickly, the owners of Ikon Apartments moved decisively to commence works to replace combustible cladding in localised areas on the facade of their landmark building in Pott’s Point. Buildcorp’s competitive pricing and innovative approach to material procurement led to an engagement under a Design & Construct contract.
With combustible cladding in a number of locations across the building facade, a bespoke access arrangement was required for each area to mitigate safety risk, maximise construction productivity and minimise impact on tenants and neighbours.
With works commencing during the peak of Covid-19 restrictions, Buildcorp’s proactive approach to safety and communication meant all residents were kept informed on a regular basis, with interaction between site personnel and residents kept to a minimum for the duration of the works.
With site works commencing at the end of July 2020, the works were delivered on programme and on budget to ensure the owners were able to renew relevant insurances with minimal impact. The project provides an excellent example of the value in engaging a company with expertise in remediation works, coupled with the benefits of industry leading systems and process to ensure smooth project delivery.
