124 Walker Street, North Sydney

The 18 storey façade at 124 Walker St was originally built in 1974 and then further extended in 2003. This multi stage façade construction required a number of unique solutions from Buildcorp’s façade and remedial team to achieve a safe and compliant delivery methodology. Working collaboratively with the client and consultant team, Buildcorp designed and fabricated bespoke bracket systems in order to install mast climber platforms to all facades, factoring in reduced nightshift working hours to minimise the impact on nearby residential properties.

With works being undertaken directly outside commercial office spaces, the Buildcorp team also developed a digital tenant communications display that provides “real time” updates to tenants of daily work areas in order to keep all stakeholders up to date with project progress.

During the duration of the project, Buildcorp removed over 5000m² of non-compliant material and replaced with a vibrant new colour scheme to refresh the existing façade, including new awnings to the ground floor and refreshed ground level facade detailing. Safety performance on the project was outstanding with no Lost Time Injuries incurred during the 80,000 work hours on site.
