Buildcorp’s specialist façade and remedial team were able to use their expertise to help resolve a number of issues on this site to transform a tired red brick building into a modern, contemporary façade with million dollar views.
With uninterrupted views of both the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, Buildcorp façade and remedial team were engaged to remove the existing 1970’s, three story, double red brick frontage from this 12 unit block. This was then replaced with a new contemporary designed façade with 100% more viewing capacity of the Harbour.
Approximately 90 tonnes of brickwork was removed whilst the premises were fully occupied. Bounded by one way streets on Kirribilli Ave and Jeffreys Street and St Aloysius’ College directly opposite great care, coordination and planning was required to successfully demolish and rebuild this façade.
Working closely with both the client’s Architect and Engineer, the following works were carried out during the course of the project: demolition, earthworks, structural steel, fire rating, brickwork, façade and windows, roofing, render, waterproofing, painting, electrical and landscaping. These works were completed all whilst allowing occupants to continue in secure possession and occupancy of the premises for the 67 week duration.
A number of challenges presented themselves during this project, which were proactively resolved through engineered solutions to ensure project delivery outcomes were achieved to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
