80 Pacific Highway, North Sydney

Occupying a high profile location in the heart of North Sydney with limited access opportunities and surrounded by busy pedestrian precincts and road networks, 80 Pacific Highway required a stringent focus on maximising safety outcomes for the general public and workers alike. This was achieved with an innovative construction methodology with a safety catch net installed capturing the upper levels of the building and a suspended cantilevered scaffold deck then constructed inside of the net.

Other elements of the façade were replaced making use of swing stages and the project was used to further develop Buildcorp’s industry leading safety rules around high risk façade works using this particular type of access system. Buildcorp also assisted the client with early procurement options in order to secure replacement cladding material in advance of design finalisation in order to provide certainty on pricing and site commencement.This stringent safety approach and focused project delivery resulted in the following:

1. 1900m² of cladding delivered with no LTI events
2. Over 26,000manhours achieving a 98.2% external safety audit score
3. Defect free handover upon completion
