Buildcorp were engaged to rejuvenate this tired 1960’s block of units which was suffering from water ingress, lack of external living areas, poor ventilation and inadequate fire services.
Rather than simply remediating this uninspiring structure, the owners decided to commence a grander project to uplift the look of the building and improve both the aesthetics and value of their units. The scope of works included:
The project presented a number of engineering and geometric challenges for the Buildcorp site team who managed to install a clean and linear façade onto a notably irregular structure. In addition, a number of unique solutions were identified and resolved by the delivery team including incorporating modern steel balcony supports onto an existing concrete encased steel structure as well as forming a smooth cladding profile for a two-way curve on a balcony balustrade.
In addition to these challenges, the team successfully managed a live-environment in which apartments were fully occupied during works and the program was coordinated with the local high school to ensure HSC exams could proceed without disruption.
The finished solution is an excellent demonstration of Buildcorp’s attention to detail in delivering not only a successful remediation package, but a full uplift scope of works that added significant value and created an entirely new building on the Harbour.
The key services delivered and sector expertise developed on this project.
