Our specialist team was able to repair, stabilise, restore and conserve the façade of the Four Seasons Hotel and increase the durability of the building fabric and secure the long-term future of this iconic hotel.
Situated in a high-profile position close to Circular Quay, the Four Seasons Hotel has been a feature on the Harbour skyline for close to four decades. With the façade requiring a refresh to enable the structure to continue taking pride of place amongst the signature buildings in the area, Buildcorp was appointed to deliver a full package of concrete repairs and façade refurbishment.
The scope of works involved concrete repairs to the exposed aggregate finish of the façade panels with a team of up to thirty specialist operatives working from mast climbers erected around the building. The complex saw-tooth arrangement of the building footprint required a very detailed approach to the access system to enable sufficient access for Buildcorp to promptly carry out the high quality of work for which the company is known for.
Our experience within live-environment enabled the team to put together a detailed delivery program in partnership with the Four Seasons Hotel management team and other stakeholders to ensure the most efficient works staging program was adopted. This involved the off-hire of entire floors of the hotel, coordinated and delivered on time to ensure the impact of noisy and disruptive works was minimised.
The project is an excellent example of the value add that Buildcorp brings to a project by combining technical and operational expertise, placing the client’s priorities at the centre of every project.
