Ipswich Western Grandstand

A national-standard sport and entertainment precinct, anchored by a boutique rectangular stadium and designed to host elite competition and major live events.

The Western Grandstand project at North Ipswich Reserve is a significant step in evolving the precinct into a premier destination for sport and entertainment. It is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments, in partnership with Ipswich City Council.

The project includes the design and construction of a new Western Grandstand, expanded parking, and upgrades to surrounding hardscape and landscaped areas to improve amenity, accessibility and overall site flow.

This project will include delivery of:

• Two-storey building integrating flood-resilient design solutions to enhance durability and operational continuity
• Tiered grandstand seating for 2,000+ spectators
• Broadcast-ready facility including coaches, media and scoring/timekeeping spaces supporting state-level NRL match delivery
• Dedicated internal and external function spaces supported by dedicated catering facilities
• Canteen and external plaza designed to support food truck activation and enhanced game day activation
• Integrated public amenities, reconfigured parking and native landscape treatments to enhance access, amenity and site presentation

The new grandstand will integrate innovation, accessibility, and spectator comfort, creating a high-quality, future-ready venue delivering legacy benefits to the region for decades to come.
