The partial demolition, reconfiguration and new construction within the Members Concourse and Lounge of Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.

The Suncorp Stadium members’ area project, on level five of the eastern grandstand, involved a complete refurbishment of the members’ lounge, function space, central bars, northern entry, corridors, and the networking lounge.

Key features of the project included:

Suspended veneer-lined planter with integrated services;
New bars equipped with stone, tiles, bar taps, stainless steel benches, appliances, and strip lighting;
New television walls with waffle-style panels;
Curved ceiling with Venetian plaster in the concourse, and;
Feature lighting and specialist services connection and fit-off.

A major challenge was completing the project while the stadium remained fully operational, including during multiple concerts and sporting events with thousands of patrons.

The works were staged to ensure safe access and egress before, during, and after events, with no reductions in amenities or food offerings, which was a key client requirement.

The project was completed in 14 weeks, including a 2-week shutdown at Christmas. Thanks to excellent coordination, timely procurement, and subcontractor support – the project was delivered defect-free and ahead of schedule.

Buildcorp was engaged to deliver a 2600m2 reimagination of the Level 5 Suncorp Stadium Members’ area. The project involved a complete removal of existing FFE to refurbish the Members’ Bistro, entrance, concourse, food outlets, bars, and amenity entries.
Given the ongoing working nature of the venue, the Builder was given firm timeframe of 14 weeks and involved ensuring the space was presentable and managed alongside events.
Even with the task of managing events and the Christmas break, Buildcorp was able to complete the project ahead of schedule by 1 week.
Stadium management worked closely with the Buildcorp team to ensure all contractors were inducted and existing limitations around event timing were communicated and adhered to. The Stadium was extremely happy with how the Builder ensured the construction zone and access points was both safe and presentable when work was on hold during events. At some times when feasible ongoing work was also managed during event bump ins and outs.
Following the handover of the space the venue was very satisfied with all the finishes and high-quality of their nature. Buildcorp presented the space defect-free and ahead of time.
